Signal tape “Do not dig! Below the power cable”
Tapes signal (LS) are used as underground warning signals about grounded cable networks and pipelines. The signal tapes are made from a high pressure polyethylene composition with a warning text along the tape.
Signal tape “Do not dig! Below the Electric Cable” Warns people that there are wires in the bottom, etc., the breakdown of which can lead to disruption of the electricity supply
Instruction on the use and laying of a tape alarm in trenches with power cables up to 35kW and control cables
1.1 The instruction is intended for organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, which performs work for the construction and operation of cable power lines with voltage up to 35 kV and control cables for various purposes that are laid in cable trenches.
1.2 The purpose of the instruction is to regulate normatively the requirements for the application and laying of the tape signal in trenches with power cables up to 35 kV and control cables.
The following terms and definitions apply to the instruction:
cable line is an electrical transmission line that consists of one or more parallel cables with connectors, end clutches and fasteners;
control cable – a cable to which control signals, measurement results or other process signals are transmitted;
tape signal – tape, usually polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride, of a corresponding color and with inscriptions, which is placed in trenches to prevent the location of the cable.
To determine the mandatory nature of the requirements, the Instruction uses the words “must”, “necessary” and derivatives from them. The words “as a rule” mean that this requirement is important, and a deviation from it requires justification. The word “allowed” means that such a decision is used as an exception (due to circumstances, limited resources, it is necessary to harmonize equipment, materials, etc.). The word “recommended” means that this solution is the best, but not necessary.
The cable that fits in the trench is protected:
– in accordance with the requirements of the PUE (§ 2.3.83);
– in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 2.3 of the PUZ-86 with changes to it in accordance with the decision of the Main Scientific and Technical Directorate of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR of June 10, 1990 No. 3-4 / 90 and GKD 34.21.206-2003 – taped signal.
